In Libië zetten een broer en zus zich tijdens de revolutie van 2011 met hart en ziel in voor de toekomst van hun land – maar ieder aan een andere kant: hij steunde Khadaffi, zij hoorde bij de ‘rebellen’. Inmiddels maakt zij deel uit van de heersende klasse, terwijl ze opnieuw opkomt voor de onderdrukten en rehabilitatie zoekt voor mensen als haar broer. De camera volgt het bijzonder bevlogen tweetal zes jaar lang. Een periode waarin zij zich verkiesbaar stelt en hij met zijn geweldstrauma’s worstelt.
Intieme scènes uit een dagelijks leven met kleine kinderen worden afgewisseld met felle discussies op politieke bijeenkomsten. De naweeën van de revolutie zijn nog lang niet voorbij. Broer en zus blijven vechten voor hun land, ook als dat het toneel wordt van een proxy war. Dat heeft niet alleen gevolgen voor het door hem zorgvuldig gerestaureerde heiligdom in een verwoeste stad, maar ook voor de veiligheid van haar en haar jonge gezin. Terwijl broer en zus van alle kanten bedreigingen ontvangen en uitwijken naar Tunesië, nemen hun vertwijfeling en desillusie toe. Valt op de puinhopen van het verscheurde Libië een nieuwe toekomst te bouwen?

This not only affects his careful restoration of a shrine previously destroyed by extremists, but also the safety of her and their young family. As brother and sister receive threats from all sides and flee to Tunisia, their disillusionment grows as they contemplate the repercussions of war and the fragility of democracy.
