World Chat 7080 is both a structured and unstructured dialogue about Moral Standards of people born between 1970 and 1989. We call this the generation 7080. To create this we use live programs and the digital chat technology. Through this we are able to connect the cultural elite world wide without the restriction of time and place.

WORLDCHAT about NEOCENSORSHIP

On Saterday night, September 20th De Balie organises a unique discussion on neo-censorship.

Neo-censorship is understood as a non-state censorship. In Western countries, it is not so much the government that prohibits freedom of speech but non-sate actors such as religious groups, organisations, and companies. Think of schools that are not willing to educate evolution theory, museums that prevent artists from exhibiting their work or publisher that refuse to publish texts because they fear the reaction of certain groups.

On September 20th we will discuss this form of censorship with our guests.
With Paul Sturges (Professor of Library Studies, Loughborough University, UK), Rohan Jayasekera (British journalist, editor, web designer and occasionally controversial activist for free expression and media rights) Ingmar Vriesema (journalist and publicist), DJ, Cocktailbar and Skype guests from all over the world.

In addition there will be a live worldwide discussion on Internet that is open to everyone.
