Klaus Theweleit is a literary scholar and cultural theorist. He was born in East Prussia in 1942, studied German literature in Kiel and Freiburg (ph. D. in 1977). He has held several guest professorships, some in the USA.

His publications include:
"Buch der Könige" (1988 und 1994), "Objektwahl" (1990), "Das Land, das Ausland heißt" (1995), "Godard" (1995), "Heiner Müller" (1996), "Ghosts" (1998), "Der Pocahontas-Komplex" mit Texten zu Arno Schmidt und Shakespeares "Sturm" (1999), "Der Knall - 11. September, das Verschwinden der Realität und ein Kriegsmodell: (2002)
